Sickle Cell Awareness

My cousin Deseriann "Deseri" was a 22 year old El Pasoan who was battling Sickle Cell Disease. Her vibrant and magnetic personality will not be forgotten.7/11/89 - 10/28/11

A 2009 graduate of Franklin High School, Deseriann "Deseri" pronounced: (dez-uh-ray) was born July 11, 1989 to Monique (Gates) Strayhorn and the late Wayne Strayhorn. Deseri was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia at the age of 6 months and has since been battling the disease ever since, valiantly. Having spent most of her life in and out of the hospital and in constant pain at times, she remained an inspirational warrior.

Her father was a US Army Veteran who passed away from cancer in 2006. His dream was for his daughter to be healed.

A wonderful dancer and former Miss Black El Paso (2010), Deseri's bubbly personality is missed by her friends and family members.

In honor of Deseri 11% of proceeds from every product you purchase will be donated to initiatives focused on people affected by sickle cell conditions worldwide. The 11 is in honor of her birthday and in remembrance of the year she went onward to paradise.
